An intuitive and effortless scanning experience is the target of the PowerScan™ 9500 family (other models include the Bluetooth PBT9500 and the StarSystem RF Frequency Wireless PM9500) It combines omnidirectional reading capabilities, which is typical in all area imaging scanners, with outstanding optical characteristics. The result is a scanner that is able to read any kind of bar code, regardless of the orientation, from contact to over 1.0 m / 3.3 ft, depending on the bar code resolution. In addition, the PowerScan PD9500 area imager includes Datalogic’s latest decoding software that guarantees snappy reading in any type of environment. Aim, trigger, decode: it is that simple!

User comfort is guaranteed because of the scanner ergonomics, consisting of the handle shape, a well-balanced weight and an intuitive aiming system, allowing the highest first-pass reading rate while reducing unnatural wrist movement or rotation which can tire any user during long shifts. Additionally, the PowerScan PD9500 area imager uses a soft-pulsed white illumination light resulting in reduced flashes, which is very gentle on the eyes and less troublesome to the operator during scan-intensive applications.

The rugged mechanics of the PowerScan family guarantee reliable operation in the long term. Repeated shocks and indoor / outdoor usage in the toughest environmental conditions do not modify the scanners performance or reliability.

The PowerScan PD9500 area imager is available in 2 different models to meet the specific needs of each customer.

The PD9530 model is geared towards customers needing high reading performance and speed on standard resolution codes.

The PD9530-HP (High Performance) model is more versatile because of the advanced optics that combine high resolution bar code reading capability (up to 2.5 mils for linear codes) and wide angle image capture (A4 image size @ 25.0 cm / 0.8 ft), while maintaining an exceptional depth-of-field.

Recent Addition: Honeywell AIDC - Stratos 2700 Bioptic Scanner-Scale

The Stratos™ 2700 is Honeywell’s first hybrid bioptic in-counter scanner that combines omnidirectional laser scanning and integrated area-imaging to provide a bar code reading platform optimized for the checkout experience. An ideal answer for traditional checkout lanes and self-checkout systems, the hybrid platform delivers rapid pass-through scanning of linear bar codes while simultaneously helping retailers to stay current with 2D and mobile bar code trends.

Equipped with field-upgradeable hardware modules like EAS antennas and scales, the Stratos 2700 was designed with both current and future needs in mind. Additionally, Honeywell’s LCD display supplies users with a live video feed-enabling greater in-store visibility for tasks like monitoring for under the cart items. This functionality reduces the complexity, cost and risk associated with deploying visual loss prevention systems while continuing to address a pivotal problem that is commonly held by retailers.

The Stratos 2700 bioptic scanner is also designed for easy serviceability, employing a “single tool” architecture that minimizes the time and equipment needed for repair. Troubleshooting the device is also simplified through the availability of full text diagnostic messages that are shown on the LCD display. The display can show several messages and statuses in multiple languages. Lastly, Honeywell’s Remote MasterMind™ device management software offers added value by enabling IT professionals to manage the entirety of their bioptic install base and connected devices from a central location.

Equipped with the largest high-visibility color graphic display (3.2 in) with touch screen in its class, the Datalogic Skorpio™ X3 mobile computer helps users work more efficiently. Three different keyboards (the 50-key alphanumeric keypad, the 38-key functional keypad and the 28-key numeric keypad) allow data to be input very quickly. Additionally, Cisco Compatible Extensions CCX V4 certification permits all the advantages offered by the Cisco WLAN infrastructure.

Skorpio X3™ mobile computers also include Datalogic’s patented ‘Green Spot’ technology for good-read feedback. This technology projects a green spot directly on the bar code, notifying the user that a successful ‘read’ has occurred. Both 1D laser scanning and 2D bar code imaging configurations provide an inclined scan engine so that the display can be viewed while reading bar codes. There is no need for the user to turn the wrist in order to scan, thus making it easier to aim and faster to read.
